We are proud to recognize three students who have earned their Marine Systems Technician Certification from Mercury University through our Career & Technical Education (CTE) program!

Through hands-on learning, technical training, and industry-aligned instruction, these students have gained the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the marine industry. Earning a certification is a major accomplishment and a strong step toward high-demand, high-skill careers.

❄️🔧 Hands-On Learning in Action! 🔧❄️

On January 31, the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum was excited to welcome the Cedarville High School Small Engines CTE class for an unforgettable, hands-on learning experience. Students explored museum exhibits, learned about engine design and mechanics, and got an up-close look at cut-a-way engines that brought classroom concepts to life.

A special thank-you to Charlie for sharing his expertise and helping students connect what they’re learning in class to real-world applications. And thank you to Chris Pearson for bringing his class and partnering with the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum to help inspire the next generation of skilled trades professionals!

The Small Engines CTE class has also been hard at work restoring a 1970 Ski-Doo that was generously gifted to them last fall. After completing extensive mechanical repairs, students shifted focus to the seat. Thanks to Rick and Janet Fisher, the class received a hands-on upholstery lesson—and did an outstanding job bringing it back to life! 👉 Be sure to check out their incredible work at the Vintage Snowmobile Show during Snowsfest!

Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in the EUP offer students opportunities to earn college credit, industry certifications, and licenses in high-wage, high-skill, and in-demand fields.

CTE also provides students with valuable work-based learning experiences. When students see a direct connection between their education and potential careers, they are often more engaged and motivated. Work-based learning allows them to see how what they are learning is applied in real-world settings, fostering a greater sense of purpose and commitment to their education.

The EUP currently operates 25 CTE programs serving students across the region, made possible through the continued support of local millage funding, which helps sustain high-quality programs, equipment, and hands-on learning opportunities for students.

EUPISD Project SEARCH interns enjoyed a Hot Cocoa/Gingerbread House event at partner site MyMichigan Medical Center Sault.

Project SEARCH offers young adults with disabilities (ages 18–26) the chance to build real-world skills and prepare for meaningful employment!

Parents, staff and students all enjoyed the first ever Learning Center Holiday Concert. Singing, dancing and drums - it was a great time and sure to become an annual tradition!
