EUP Regional Science & Engineering Fair Results
The Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District (EUPISD) and EUP MiSTEM Region held the annual EUP Regional Science & Engineering Fair for grades K-8 on December 09, 2025, at Lake Superior State University. Participating schools included Brimley, Les Cheneaux, JKL Bahweting, Pickford, Rudyard, Sault Elementary, Sault Area Middle School, and St. Ignace. This year, 184 students advanced from local school district Science and Engineering Fair events to represent 122 projects in the regional event at LSSU.
Students had the opportunity to present their questions, ideas, methods, solutions, and results to teams of judges. Judges evaluated the project based on a judging rubric that is aligned with the Science and Engineering Practices within Michigan's Science and Engineering Standards. The judging panel consisted of members of our local community: Bay Mills Community College, Chippewa County Community Foundation, Cloverland, DNR, EUPISD staff, Hessel Schoolhouse, Jr Achievement of the UP, Lake Superior State University, MI Works, Precision Edge, Soo Coop Credit Union, US ARMY (enlisted and civilian), and USDA, along with a few retired community members. On this Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the more than 2,400 Americans who lost their lives and the many others who were injured during the attack on December 7th, 1941 that led the United States into World War II.
May we never forget their sacrifice and always strive to preserve the lessons of history. 📖

These opportunities are made possible thanks to community support for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) millage. The millage gives students the chance to explore rewarding career paths and build the skills our local industries need.
