Welcome to 2026! I hope you celebrated a peaceful and safe holiday season. We continue to “enjoy” Mother Nature’s Snow Globe in the EUP. Please allow extra time for travel to and from school and work and keep an eye out for buses and students on the road.
January is designated as School Board Appreciation Month. We appreciate the service of all board members across the EUP. Local school districts in the region have locally elected boards of education. The local school boards elect the ISD board members. Board members play a crucial role in district policymaking. These are often underappreciated roles. Please take a moment this month and throughout the year to thank your local board members for their dedication and service.
For several years, I have followed author Jon Gordon, who wrote The Energy Bus and other books. He writes about the power of positivity and the impact of supportive school cultures built on trust, safety, and strong relationships. I encourage you to spend time in 2026 focusing on building relationships with your students, colleagues, and families. Be a driving force of positive influence! Here’s to a fabulous 2026!
