Notice of Non-Discrimination
In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (as amended), Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1975, the EUPISD Board of Education assures its compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination.
It is the policy of the EUPISD Board of Education, that no person on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, (including sexual orientation or transgender identity), disability, age, religion, height, weight, marital or family status, military status, ancestry, genetic information, or any other legally protected category, (collectively, "Protected Classes") shall be discriminated against, excluded from participating in, denied the benefits of or otherwise be subjected to discrimination in its programs and activities, including employment opportunities.
OCR Complaint
At any time, if a member of the public believes that they have been subjected to discrimination based upon their disability in violation of Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended ("ADA") the individual may file a complaint using the District's Section 504/Title II Complaint Procedure, or with the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights ("OCR"). Prohibition Against Retaliation
The Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District will not discriminate against, coerce, intimidate, threaten or interfere with any individual because the person opposed any act or practice made unlawful by Section 504 or the ADA, or because that individual made a charge, testified, assisted or participated in any manner in an investigation, proceeding, or hearing under Section 504 or the ADA, or because that individual exercised, enjoyed, aided or encouraged any other person in the exercise or enjoyment of any right granted or protected by Section 504 or the ADA.
