13 Moons of Anishinaabe Nutrition© incorporates Anishinaabe language and traditional stories to teach and/or reconnect students about nutrition along with taste testing of traditional food.  This curriculum helps increase awareness of locally grown Indigenous foods and wisdom, in addition to encouraging diversity in our local food systems in the long term.  The benefits of learning about traditional foods and connecting to local resources can positively impact our elders' health-related decisions. Utilizing this curriculum, we support traditional language learning, intergenerational connections, healthy food traditions, and nutrition education around gardening while responding to the need for health equity and Anishinaabe culture and foodway revitalization.  (Lessons are adapted to meet the needs of our elders)
