  • OneDrive Transition

    Microsoft OneDrive for Business lets you store, share, and sync your work or school files. Learn about OneDrive for Business with this online training video (2:19).

    Login to Office 365 (O365)

    Using the latest Edge or Chrome browser, navigate to: https://portal.office.com and login to O365 with your Active Directory credentials (those you use to login to a Windows computer).

    Move your Files and Folders

    After watching the online training video, you will be ready to move your files and folders from your H: Drive to OneDrive (reference video at the :30 marker). Leave your other network file shares (drives) in place. We will be migrating those to SharePoint Document Libraries in the coming months.

    Sync

    In the online training video, you will learn about using Sync (reference video at the 1:50 marker). We recommend that you do not use Sync until you have become comfortable working with your files in OneDrive.

  • Phishing Campaigns

    Phishing, according to Merriam-Webster, is "a scam by which an Internet user is duped (as by a deceptive e-mail message) into revealing personal or confidential information which the scammer can use illicitly." The Federal Trade Commission provides consumer information on How to Recognize and Avoid Phishing Scams.

    In education, phishing poses a threat to parent's private information in the form of personal information contained in student records. It poses a threat to staff private information; imagine the information required in order to process payroll, pay into retirement accounts, pay into social security.

    Need some perspective? In the past week, there have been more than 2,100 phishing messages detected coming in to our email system. Seventy-four accounts were identified as receiving the majority of these phishing messages.

    • 44% went to administrators or staff whose role grants them wide access to student or financial records
    • 33% went to teachers
    • 23% went to students

    Be cautious with email. Never, ever, ever provide your password to anyone through an email request. The technical services department is working to add identifying text to email that originates from somewhere other than eupschools.org. You may have already received a message where the subject line is prepended with [EXTERNAL].

  • H-Drive to OneDrive

    The time has come to retire the H-Drive and move files to cloud storage in OneDrive. Regional staff and students have OneDrive storage as part of their Office 365 license. Microsoft has excellent videos demonstrating how to move your files to OneDrive, and each is only about 1.5 minutes long. Start with Intro to OneDrive and then Manage your Files, and if you’re feeling really frisky, check out Sync and Share

  • Back-up Your Browser Bookmarks

    Ever wish you could move your bookmarks/favorites from one computer to another? Perhaps your bookmarks are on a laptop, but you want them on your desktop. Or, your laptop is getting old and you are worried it may die before a new one is ordered. The process of exporting your bookmarks is quite simple, as is the process of importing them back in to a different computer.

    We have quick videos to demonstrate how to export your bookmarks from the Chrome browser, and how to export your favorites from the Edge browser. Check it out and add this tip to your toolbox!
