Ms. Abby Coberly

School Psychologist

Abby Coberly is a school psychologist whose primary role is to conduct psychoeducational evaluations to determine if students are eligible for special education services. She works with students, teachers, and families to identify, plan, and implement interventions and supports to build students’ skills and success.

Abby recently began her career with the EUP as a graduate intern during the 2021-2022 school-year, and has since been hired-on as a full-time school psychologist. Beyond completing evaluations, Abby is involved in the Youth Mental Health Committee and the LGBTQ+ Student Support Network which work to support students in need in the EUP. She also participates in Emergency Student Assistance Team (ESAT) meetings and Risk Assessments.

Previously, Abby received bachelor's degrees at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Psychology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies in 2019. She then continued her education to receive master's and specialist degrees at GVSU in School Psychology in 2022, along with a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. Additionally, Abby has participated in undergraduate research on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), as well as a graduate assistantship for GVSU's Statewide Autism Resources and Training (START) Project.

Abby's background helps her to build meaningful connections between students' identities and experiences with their academic performance, behavior, and well-being in order to better understand how to best support their success in school and beyond.
