School Social Worker Intern

Gabby is a school social work intern attending Michigan State University, earning her MSW. Gabby assists in providing assessment and evaluation for special education eligibility, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, individual and group counseling under the supervision of a licensed School Social Worker . Gabby also helps students develop age appropriate social skills along with other coping and problem-solving skills.

Gabby worked as a certified alcohol and drug counselor at Great Lakes Recovery for seven years in residential and outpatient setting providing individual and group counseling services to individuals from age 13 and up. Gabby earned her BS is Psychology and Associate degrees in Social work and Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment at Lake Superior State University. Her Senior Thesis focused on the connection between childhood trauma, mental health and ADHD symptoms. This background experience allows Gabby to understand the many factors that impact the students serviced.
