Mr. Mark Senkus
As a school social worker, Mark conducts mental health screenings in order to develop therapeutic treatment plans for at risk students and facilitates intervention groups aligned with student needs. Additionally, Mark provides assessment and evaluation for special education eligibility. Mark helps students develop age appropriate social skills along with other coping and problem-solving skills. Mark supports the development of self-regulation, social skills, and problem-solving to ensure each student has full access to their educational environment.
Mark has an array of experience in client-centered, strength-based social work. Central to his experience are years of employment with Hiawatha Behavioral Health and Sault Tribe Behavioral Health, where he eventually served in leadership roles at both organizations. As an outpatient psychotherapist, he was trained in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Mark has also provided case-management services to adults and adolescents, linking individuals to needed supports and coordinating services within the community.
