Megan supports the development of age appropriate self-regulation, social skills, problem solving, and independence. Megan provides consultative services to teachers and other staff members to ensure each student has full access to their educational environment. Additionally, Megan conducts mental health screenings in order to develop therapeutic treatment plans for at risk students, facilitate intervention groups aligned with student needs, and serves as a liaison between school and parents.

Megan started her career as a jail diversion case manager working with the severely mentally ill through social rehabilitation planning and skill development to enhance their stability within the community and achieve independence. Megan went on to work as a hospice medical social worker with a focus on grief and end-of-life care. Most recently, Megan has spent the past several years working at Hiawatha Behavioral Health as an outpatient clinical therapist. Megan completed initial diagnostic assessments and treatment plans for adults with severe mental illnesses and children with severe emotional disturbances, provided solution focused counseling services through individual and family therapy, and participated in emergency on-call crisis intervention services. Megan is clinically trained in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
