Application Network Systems Technician

Mike provides technical support and coordination for EUP Technology Consortium educational applications, computer and network systems. He is the lead tech person for Rudyard Areas Schools and the EUPISD Learning Center.

You can look to Mike to:

Provide on-site troubleshooting repair of district hardware and software.

Organize and maintain inventory, new and existing, and doing annual inspections of equipment.

Set up and configure computer workstations and computer-related products. 

Provide technical support for Interactive Television for teachers and students. 

Provides user training on educational technology services as needed. 

Supports district voice, video and data systems. 

Provide backup support to Network Systems Engineers.

Mike's previous experience at Rogers City Area Schools as the technology coordinator/pupil accounting coordinator was to provide desk top, LAN, and WAN security; evaluate and troubleshoot the network; monitor and analyze network traffic; purchased, installed, configured and monitor the firewall; installed, configured and maintain Windows 2000/2008 domain; managed the Help Desk and provided remote administration of three sites. Responsible for pupil accounting. 

Mike also worked at Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Services in Alpena, Michigan as a MIS technician. Responsible for the maintenance and support of the local and wide area networks including system security, data integrity and confidentiality of consumer information.  Assist with training staff on new hardware and software, including proper use and equipment; and software maintenance.  Troubleshoot hardware/software and network problems. 

Mike has experience working for Michigan Department of Transportation in Gaylord, Michigan as a student micro system technician. Responsibilities included preparing, installing, moving, and troubleshooting microcomputers, data communications network and related equipment.  Prepared and installed software packages and performed equipment repair.  Instructed individual users on computer operation and assisted with group demonstrations.  Also provided record keeping functions regarding equipment inventory, network diagrams and internal files.
