Special Education Supervisors

  •  Special Education Supervisors are staff who have expertise in special education and are designated by local district superintendents.  Their main function is to coordinate special education programs and services within their districts. 

    SPECIFIC DUTIES OF A SPECIAL EDUCATION SUPERVISOR INCLUDE:

    • Coordinating Child Find (evaluation) efforts
    • Ensuring a continuum of programs and services for each eligible student through the IEP process
    • Service as a primary point-of-contact for parent questions and concerns related to special education
    • Attendance at Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District Area Coordinators meetings
