    Sex Ed and HIV Framework

This is not a "curriculum" training. We cover the Law, best practices in instruction, curriculum selection, and the framework needed for a school to teach Sex Ed. (including puberty), as well HIV. We also provide content training on AIDS/HIV and other STIs. Attending this training certifies teachers or nurses to teach HIV, but for Sex Ed. the teacher must be HQ. Teachers in 4th and 5th grades, who are using Michigan Model for Health, will receive their HIV lesson at the end of this training. It is best for teachers to know if the school is Abstinence-Based or Abstinence-Only, and if there is curricula in place already at the school and what it is.
